CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Pilates Mat & Apparatus at Bilancia is the same system of conditioning that Joseph Pilates originally created. This system combines intense mental conditioning with physical training to work from the “inside out” (Our core). The goal is to produce a lean, agile physique, proper body alignment, and good balance. It is about movement and training your muscles to work in harmony with your breath. Whether the student enrolls in mat classes or prefers individual work on the apparatus, the goal is the same.

Pre-natal Pilates is a basic Pilates class designed especially for the expecting mother, and is also appropriate for post-natal care.

Flex and flow Yoga is a moderate level class, for those with some flexibility or experience with yoga. We explore different styles of yoga to promote healthy balance for body and mind.

Gentle Stretch Yoga is an easy series of basic yoga stretches and breathing to help improve and maintain flexibility and movement throughout your life. Perfect for beginners and those who just want to de-stress from the day and take care of their bodies.

Kundalini Yoga & Meditation is known as the Yoga of Awareness, this ancient technology assists you in awakening and accessing your highest consciousness. Strengthen your nervous and glandular systems as you integrate spirit, body and mind. Each class offers a different theme/concentration and is specifically designed to target issues you need to address emotionally, physically and spiritually. All classes include chanting, breath-work, stretching, movement, music and meditation/relaxation.

Prenatal Yoga is a class tailored just for the mama to be! Our classes will not only provide the physical benefits of stretching and strengthening the pregnant body for birth, but will prepare the pregnant mind for labor, birth and motherhood. It will her you explore your weaknesses and focus on your strengths, realizing that these are vital to understanding how we birth our babies. All classes begin with a discussion and conclude with deep relaxation.

The Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education is designed to bring about ease of movement through more intelligent movement choices. The Feldenkrais Method challenges students to use awareness to re-shape habitual movements into more elegant movement. The Feldenkrais Method is recommended for students looking to improve their performance in Yoga, Dance, Golf, Running or sitting at the computer for long periods.

Skillywork. Skilly Forsman is a living legend in Tulsa. When going to Skillywork, you learn to expect the unexpected. Each class is different, and yet, at the end of each class, your whole body and brain have been stretched. Each session blends all disciplines: body power / brain power, alignment / balance, strength / flexibility, movement / endurance. With this class, you will gain knowledge of how your body works: your muscles, your tendons, your joints, and how to keep moving. You will undoubtedly see a change in your mobility, gain energy, and find ways overcome injuries (such as arthritis). In short, skillywork is a multilevel class designed especially for you!

The Gibbons Method of Muscle release Therapy, MRTh® is a holistic approach to resolving chronic soft tissue discomfort and allowing proper functional movement. The goal for treatment is to facilitate the most efficient posture, or structure, to maximize pain-free movement patterns that the individual can maintain.
